Case Manager at Ohio Community Health Recovery Centers
Having experienced various mental health and substance use treatment centers both as a client and as an employee, I’ve seen firsthand how easy it is for clients to fall through the cracks. At many facilities, it’s not uncommon for someone to complete their entire stay without ever meeting their assigned case manager, or only seeing them once or twice throughout the entire treatment episode. This lack of connection can leave clients feeling unsupported and overlooked during a time when they need consistent, compassionate guidance the most.
That’s why working at OCHRC as a case manager has been such a meaningful and refreshing experience. At OCHRC, every client is not only assigned a case manager and therapist, but they are also seen weekly, sometimes more, if needed. This level of care and availability is not just a policy, it’s a commitment. My clients are often surprised (and relieved) when I explain that we will be meeting every week. Many share that at previous facilities, they were left to navigate their recovery journey alone with little to no support.
Being part of a team that truly prioritizes client-centered care is something I take pride in every day. OCHRC’s mission aligns with my own values, and the welcoming, collaborative environment here is unlike anything I’ve experienced before. When a facility not only talks the talk but also walks the walk in terms of client care, it shows, in the outcomes, the morale, and most importantly, the hope we help instill in our clients.
I’m proud to be a part of that.
